It’s that time of the year again… Time to make promises to yourself and then inevitably break them. Why is it that year in and year out we fall into the same traps when it comes to goal setting? No matter how good our intentions are, they never seem good enough to be able to push us over the proverbial hump. A couple of years ago I came across the saying “Know thyself, Be thyself, Love thyself…” Truth be told, I don’t even remember whom the author is. But even so the deeper meaning and power behind these few words still ring true: If you don’t know yourself, then how can be yourself? And if you can’t be yourself how will you ever love yourself? And conversely: You will never love yourself if you cannot be yourself, and you cannot be yourself if you don’t even know who you are… “That’s all good and well Michael, but how does that relate to me not achieving my goals?” I hear you say… The answer is fairy simple: Each one of us has a superhero complex when it comes to us achieving our goals. We tend to forget that we have limitations, bad habits, challenges etc… that all stand in the way of us achieving our goals. And because we refuse to acknowledge their existence we never make a plan to overcome them. You will never make a plan to solve a problem that you don’t believe exists… and that is why you don’t achieve your goals… In the video I explain a few of the challenges and blind spots that get in the way in us achieving our goals. This is part 1 of a 3 part series, please stay tuned for future posts. Achieve your Goals pt1 – Roadblocks Summary   Cover Photo Credit: Photo by Isaac Smith on Unsplash
